Police are on the lookout for two women that the New York Jets’ Le’Veon Bell calls his “girlfriends,” it was these so-called girlfriends who stole over $500K in cash and jewelry from the Hollywood, Florida mansion of the newly signed running back. Another story that proves, once again, that a fool and his money, and, in this case, his jewelry, are soon parted.

Bell told police that he was working out at a local gym over the Memorial Day weekend when the two “girlfriends” lifted $547,600 in cash and jewelry, including his black and white diamond-studded Black Panther pendant.  The police report shows that $22,600 in cash was stolen, along with an $80,000 Rolex, along with other items valued at $440,000 and a sixth item valued at $5,000 that its description is redacted on the report.

It is believed that Bell might have tipped off his “girlfriends” to the presence of the jewelry since, on what is thought to be the day of the crime, the newly signed free agent was showing off his purchases on Instagram by posting photos of his purchases. Since the day of the crime, no one has seen the women in question and, to date, no arrests have been made.

Clearly Le’Veon Bell is excessively trusting of people; in this case, he picked the wrong women, and he was burned badly. While it is not difficult to understand how the “girlfriends” gained access to his house, to think that someone who just leave around hundreds of thousands of dollars in jewelry without investing in a safe is something I will never understand.  One can only hope that the lesson Bell learned from this situation carries over to other athletes; sadly, I am sure we will hear another story like this somewhere down the road.

I hope you had fun with your “girlfriends” Le’Veon, since they are now somewhere out there having fun at your expense.
