The draft is right around the corner and last time I checked I think the Raiders have like 30 picks.
No, but seriously, they have a lot of picks and they’ve given away a lot of talent to get these picks. This is going to be a crucial draft for Jon Gruden and the Raiders and they are apparently going to be doing it without their scouts.
Reports have come out that the Raiders front office doesn’t know if they can trust the scouts that are on the current staff. It’s not uncommon for things like this to happen when a new front office is put together, the weird part is the timing. This is with less than a week until the draft. Oakland has a chance to add three day 1 starters in just the first round alone.
Questions regarding Derek Carr’s future have emerged and with quarterbacks like Dwayne Haskins and Kyler Murray on the board, it will be interesting to see who they decide to go after when comparing to the absurd amount of defensive studs that will be sitting there available at #4. This is Mike Mayock’s first year as a member of the front office for any NFL team. It looks like he’s going to be pulling double duty for the next week and it should be interesting to see how this plays out with the Raiders being one of the most intriguing teams to watch come draft day.
