OTAs are here and one team is hoping to have their QB back and healthy to prepare for the upcoming season and another run into the playoffs.
That team is the Philadelphia Eagles.
Carson Wentz stated yesterday, that while there is not an exact timetable for his return to full health, he feels good on his recovery process so far. The verdict still isn’t out yet on what Carson Wentz is.
Is he the future of the Philadelphia Eagles?
In 3 seasons so far he has zero playoff wins under his belt, all of those including the super bowl belong to Jacksonville Jaguars QB Nick Foles, the former Philly backup.
Is he just another injury prone QB?
This is still to be determined, but with one more major injury I think it becomes clear that the injury prone label belongs on him.
Hell, I’m very tempted to just put it on him now, but the reports said this injury has been lingering for years dating back to his college playing days so we will let this one slide.
The Eagles were in a tough spot this offseason. They had to choose between the recent draft pick that cant stay healthy but has shown tremendous upside (yes he would have won MVP during the Super Bowl season if he had not gotten hurt) and the Super Bowl MVP who has made a habit of doing just enough to win the games that mattered. They chose to put their faith in Wentz and this season will tell them if they made the right decision or not.
Regardless of the record at the end of the year, I think Philly fans would just like to see their QB make it through healthy and play the full season.
